DESCRIPTION

On April 12 at 7:00 PM we commemorate the loss of six million Jews and many others as part of our annual Holocaust Remembrance program for Yom Hashoah. This year we will celebrate the fact that even in the darkest of times there are those that will risk it all to do what is right. We are honored to welcome Cary Lane Ph. D. professor and visiting curator of The Harriet and Kenneth Kupferberg Holocaust Center exhibit entitled Conspiracy of Goodness: How French Protestants Rescued Thousands of Jews During WWII. He will share the riveting story of how an isolated Huguenot community in the Haute-Loire Valley saved 3,500 Jews from Nazi Germany, and the soldiers of Vichy, France. Survivors are invited to light a candle as part of our memorial service. Please contact the synagogue office at 621.2288 x110 or 111 in advance to participate in the candle lighting. Yom Hashoah candles are available for pick up beginning March 12th in the synagogue office and at the program on April 12. Please consider making a donation to the TBS Men's Club to help defray costs.

The publication of the TBS Yom Hashoah Scroll of Remembrance is one of the ways in which we maintain our commitment to remember those who perished in the Holocaust. At this time, we would like to update our memorial list, giving new members the opportunity to include the names of their loved ones who perished and giving former contributors the chance to make any changes that may have come to their attention.
